Wholesome organic products from the Rainforest on the Big Island of Hawaii
I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving and got a lot of their shopping completed. We will be at both the Hilo market and Makuu market this Sunday. Farm news includes a harvest of organic free ranged meat birds on Friday and I believe a couple of Muscovy males and extra stewing roosters. Let us know if you would like to donate to the farm in exchange for some freshly harvested animals. We will also have a special on baby starts of basil, chard, kale and collards 2 dollars a pot ( normally 3 dollars) they are grown using organic soil and have never had miricle grow added, more on that later. Proceed from all sells go directly back into the farm to teach others how to live sustainably.
This week the farm we had a set of baby rabbits born to Momma Red, One little baby goose and one baby black Copper Maran born. 25 meat birds that we brought in as day old chicks to supply the farm with meat during the next few months after of course they grow to an acceptable size. Sisters were brought in from Candi in Orchidland to join our rabbit breeding program, needed some more work our boys.. Plants were planted, transplants were done and as always the never ending yard work that the chickens shown were helping with.

Now this is pasture-raised at its best. Our girls get the run of the farm from sun up until they return to their roost for a nice relaxing evening. When we do give grains it is a nice healthy organic food.
Several times a year we have baby chicks for sale starting at 5.00 dollars each to 10.00 each depending upon the breed.
If you are not up for all the care that babies need we will also sell older chicks or pullets starting at 15.00

I wish I had this many veggies at this time! Don't those colors look wonderful? We do all types of normal veggies and try to mix it up with something different that no one else has. The great part is you get to mix and match what you would like and most everything is 3.00 a pound. Come get your colors going this week.
Our newest project this year in addition to the colorful veggies is do everything roots. You'll find out more on that project later.
Check back later for additional updates

Add a description about this item
Charlie was added to our farm shortly after returned from multiple surgeries and a long trip to the mainland. She was introduced to us off the back of a pickup truck as a puppy for free. Her brothers carried the color of the parents but Charlie was the odd one carrying the colors of mom an arctic wolf. She immediately threw her arms(paws) around my neck and it was immediate love between the two of us. Having a wolf on the farm keeps me on my toes. She has been the best thing for my healing.
